About me v1: I love conversation, spirituality, recovering, nature; I love sitting at home watching romantic comedies or reading. (And I'm not quite sick of reality shows yet.) I love being with people it's easy to be with, where I can be silent or blabber, and both are OK. I'm not interested in arguing. Arguing is stupid. But talking to people who see things differently is the only way to learn. I write incessantly -- esp. about gender, spirituality, politics and pop culture -- and post some of it on my site, pfrose.com, some of it on livejournal.com (username experiential), or both places; also other places.
About me v2: I'm a neo-Luddite who works in new media; a spiritual seeker with a TiVo; a thinker who believes intellectualism is a psychopathology; a hetero queer; and I try not to take any of it too seriously and just enjoy life. (I know, I know, the "he's this but also this unexpected opposite thing" is trite. If this bothers you, then consider it a postmodern referential device mocking the genre. If that bothers you, well, good.)
About me v3: I used to be a senior editor for technology publications. Since then I have been a (major and minor) political party leader, a video editor, an Oblate to a Camaldolese monastery, a downtempo electronic DJ, and a software designer. I live in the East Village, half a block from where I managed a record store as a teenager. For a while in between, I lived in a cabin on a 200-acre piece of land in rural Maine, raising sheep, gardening, meditating and writing.
